Shipping & Crating Policy

How I Protect Your Investment

A custom copper chimney cap is a significant investment. I don't just "box" my work — I engineer the protection for it.

Custom-Built Wood Crating Every chimney cap I ship is secured inside a custom-built, heat-treated wood crate. This rigid skeleton prevents the copper from bending, bowing, or sustaining fret marks during transit — unlike mass-market sellers who use cardboard.

Fully Insured Freight Every shipment is 100% insured. In the rare event a crate is damaged by the carrier, I handle the claim — not you.

Delivery Specifics

  • Carrier: Smaller items ship via UPS or FedEx. Large chimney caps ship via LTL Freight due to their size and weight.
  • Lift-Gate Service: Freight shipments to residential addresses include lift-gate service at no extra charge — the driver lowers the crate to the ground for you.
  • Signature Required: A signature is required upon delivery to ensure your cap arrives in the right hands.

Inspection Upon Arrival Inspect the exterior of the crate before signing. If you see major structural damage to the wood crate, note "Damaged" on the driver's paperwork and contact me immediately at arcmetcon@gmail.com or (609)352-9840.

Please note: Large caps ship via LTL Freight. If your property cannot accommodate a full-sized 18-wheeler, let me know so I can arrange terminal pickup or a smaller delivery truck.

Lead Times & Tracking

  • Fabrication: Each piece is handcrafted to your dimensions in my New Jersey shop. Please allow 3–4 weeks for fabrication.
  • Tracking: As soon as your crate ships, I'll send a tracking number and a direct link to monitor delivery progress.
